YOUR LOCAL TEAM for 2023-2025

PresidentLara Waterhouse– Lara has been a daily Occasional Teacher in the City of Kawartha Lakes since 2006. She is a lifelong resident of the area, having attended local elementary and secondary schools during her childhood. Lara joined the TLOTL Executive in the spring of 2011. She became the Secretary in 2013 and over the years also held the roles of Professional Learning Chair and Vice-President, before  becoming President in January of 2017. Lara looks forward to many years of working with TLOTL members in her role as President.

Vice-President: Amanda Webster – Amanda has been a member of the board and worked on the Occasional Teacher list since 2016. She joined the executive in 2019 and has now moved into the Vice-President Role. Amanda has attended many programs hosted by the Local as well as larger events for the Locals in various places such as Toronto, Minden, etc. Amanda has many passions including Special Education and Mathematics. Amanda loves education and any way that she can advance her learning.

Secretary: Amanda Austin– Amanda is a daily Occasional Teacher in the Haliburton area, where she has lived with her family for over a decade. Amanda has been teaching with the TLDSB since October 2005. She joined the Executive in 2010. For the 2023-2025 term Amanda will continue in her role as secretary for the Local.

Treasurer: Janice Speers – Janice joined TLDSB in the 2020-21 school year. She serves as a daily Occasional Teacher and has held several short term LTO’s over the years. She joined the Executive Team for the Local to begin the 2023-24 school year. With a passion for math and numbers, she is delighted to take on the treasurer role. “Teaching and learning go hand in hand. I am excited for what the next chapter holds!”

Executive Members:

Erika Smalley – Erika has been a member of the TLDSB Occasional list in the City of Kawartha Lakes since the spring of 2017. She joined the TLOTL Executive in Fall of 2021 as a new member and is currently in the Professional Development Chair role for this term. 

Tracy Martin – Tracy comes to us after a 14 year career in the Peel District School Board. She joined the TLDSB IN 2021. Tracy is passionate about equity in education and French language learning. Tracy joined the Executive for the 2023-2025 term and is serving as a Member at large.
